Supermicro server disposition

Meridian IT Asset Disposition handles retired Supermicro servers, Twin nodes, and GPU systems. Builds vary, so photos of the chassis and installed components help us understand the hardware.

Supermicro servers we accept

Platforms

  • X13 (4th and 5th gen Xeon)
  • X12 (3rd gen Xeon)
  • X11 (1st and 2nd gen Xeon)
  • H12 and H13 (EPYC)

Form factors

  • 1U and 2U rack servers
  • Twin and BigTwin nodes
  • Storage chassis
  • GPU servers

How to start

  • Start with photos or a description of the CPUs, memory, drives, and GPUs if you know them. A detailed inventory is not required; you can request a visit for help.

The installed build matters as well as the chassis

Supermicro equipment can include different processors, memory, storage, and accelerator cards within similar-looking chassis. Describe the systems as they are currently configured, rather than relying only on a chassis name. Photos and an existing inventory export are useful if you have them.

Include rack servers, multi-node systems, storage chassis, and GPU systems in the same inquiry. The platforms below are examples. Older or unfamiliar builds can be submitted for review without first assembling a complete specification sheet.

Show us complete systems and loose components

A front-and-rear photo, a readable system label, and a rough count help establish what is present. For multi-node equipment, mention whether the nodes are still installed in their shared chassis. For GPU systems, include any card models you already know.

Tell us about missing nodes, power supplies, drive carriers, or cooling components, and whether condition is known or untested. There is no need to take a system apart just to begin. If the inventory is difficult to identify remotely, request a visit for help.

Coordinate storage and collection requirements

Identify installed and loose drives separately from the other components. We agree on their handling before collection, including in-house sanitization or a request for on-site HDD/SSD shredding. On-site availability and the exact job scope are confirmed individually.

Let us know where the equipment is located and whether it remains racked. Include loading access and any building restrictions when planning the handoff. The collection plan should account for the whole lot, not just the main chassis.

Questions about Supermicro servers

Can I include Supermicro servers in a mixed lot?

Yes. Include Supermicro servers with the other hardware you need to clear out. We review the whole lot and confirm the scope before collection.

What do I need to send for a quote on Supermicro servers?

Start with photos or a description of the CPUs, memory, drives, and GPUs if you know them. A detailed inventory is not required; you can request a visit for help.

What happens to the drives in my Supermicro servers?

For in-house sanitization, we wipe drives in Oakland to NIST SP 800-88 and issue a certificate per serial. Failed wipes lead to physical destruction. You can request on-site HDD/SSD shredding; availability, scope, and documentation are confirmed per job.

Which Supermicro servers do you accept?

Platforms: X13 (4th and 5th gen Xeon), X12 (3rd gen Xeon), X11 (1st and 2nd gen Xeon), H12 and H13 (EPYC). Form factors: 1U and 2U rack servers, Twin and BigTwin nodes, Storage chassis, GPU servers. These are examples, not a cutoff. If yours isn't here, send photos or a description for review.

How soon can you pick up Supermicro servers?

Our team picks up in the Bay Area within 5 business days of quote acceptance. Everywhere else in the US, we schedule freight within 5 business days.
