Do I need to pack anything for a pickup in San Jose and Silicon Valley?
No. Our team loads the hardware at your dock. Tell us about access when you send your request (loading dock, ground floor, or upper floor) and we'll plan the pickup around it.
Where does my hardware go after pickup?
For in-house jobs, hardware comes to our Oakland warehouse for inventory and sanitization. Inventory visits and on-site HDD/SSD shredding can be requested; availability and scope are confirmed separately.
Does California law require me to destroy data on old hardware?
California requires businesses to take reasonable steps to destroy customer records that contain personal information when they dispose of them, by shredding, erasing, or otherwise making the information unreadable. The statute is California Civil Code section 1798.81, and a certificate for each drive serial number gives you a record of how you disposed of the data.
