How to start

  • Model numbers and a count help us start the discussion. Include the box of optics if you have one; we follow up for any details needed for a quote.

Clear the network closet as a complete collection

A network refresh can leave switches, routers, firewalls, and boxes of optics from several generations. Describe them together, including equipment that is disconnected, incomplete, or of unknown condition. We review the whole lot and confirm what can be included before collection.

Tell us whether the equipment is still installed in racks or has already been gathered for pickup. Include loose transceivers, power supplies, and accessories in your photos or description so they can be considered in the same plan.

Labels and counts help identify the hardware

Photos of model labels and a rough count are useful starting points. For optics, readable part numbers can help distinguish modules that look similar. An existing network inventory is welcome, but you do not need to prepare one just to contact us.

Note known faults, missing components, and any account or management restrictions your team knows about. Do not send credentials or configuration backups through the inquiry form. The responsible administrator can handle access questions as part of preparing the equipment for retirement.

Discuss configuration and storage before release

Network devices may need attention to stored configuration, credentials, or internal media as part of retirement. Tell us about your requirements before the handoff so the handling scope is agreed for the equipment involved. Do not assume that every device follows the same process as a loose hard drive.

Where the job includes HDDs or SSDs, we discuss their data service separately. Requests for on-site shredding are subject to confirmed availability and scope. The job summary records the hardware, with any additional service documentation agreed before work.

Questions about network hardware

Can I include network hardware in a mixed lot?

Yes. Include network hardware with the other hardware you need to clear out. We review the whole lot and confirm the scope before collection.

What do I need to send for a quote on network hardware?

Model numbers and a count help us start the discussion. Include the box of optics if you have one; we follow up for any details needed for a quote.

What happens to the drives in my network hardware?

For in-house sanitization, we wipe drives in Oakland to NIST SP 800-88 and issue a certificate per serial. Failed wipes lead to physical destruction. You can request on-site HDD/SSD shredding; availability, scope, and documentation are confirmed per job.

Which network hardware do you accept?

Switching: Cisco Catalyst and Nexus, Arista 7000 series, Juniper EX and QFX, Aruba CX. Security and routing: Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco ISR and ASR, Juniper SRX and MX.
